The Institute for Community Prosperity connects learning, research and change leadership to build community and strengthen the common good. We emerged from the former Institute for Nonprofit Studies, which served for 13 years as Canada’s only university-based institute focused on research into Canada’s nonprofit sector.Community Prosperity is our name and our purpose. We aspire to live in communities that are prosperous - not only economically, but also socially, ecologically, and culturally. We are committed to ensuring that students and citizens have access to learning opportunities and research that will help them lead transformative change in their communities. Three core values inform our work – empathy, creativity and courage. These values translate into three learning themes that define our focus: philanthropy, social innovation and transformative leadership.At the Trico Changemakers Studio —is a vibrant co-working and learning space that is building a dynamic community of changemakers. We are students, social entrepreneurs, activists, artists, and leaders from across sectors making a difference for people and the planet. We are catalyzing a culture of innovation, sharing successes and failures, learning new skills, and connecting with changemakers from Calgary and from around the world.What we do; Inspiring coworking spaces, social innovation facilitation, and connections to a local and global network of changemakers.Thrivehas a strong network of partnerships to reach real people, create real opportunities and champion real change. The Social Shift: A Documentry on Business for the Common Good. 
Social Shift Description:
After driving 8500 kilometres across Canada interviewing over 50 people in 14 cities, 9 provinces in 6 weeks, yravel with us as we drive across the nation, floating on a geographic canvas of consumption and inequity, kindness and generosity and, most of all, a drive for change. We will share the stories of fired-up citizens adding a different type of value to the world through business: social value. Value that is not only economic, but improving people’s lives and bettering society; that builds communities, protects the environment, supports local and employs people of all abilities; a type of value that lives up to the responsibilities that our world and future rely on. Hilarious, informative and heartfelt, this is a journey that will leave viewers inspired, engaged and ready to contribute to making the world a more inclusive and sustainable place for all.
