Community.The Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa develops integrity, empathy and self-confidence in its choristers through choral excellence, leadership training and educational and community engagement. The Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa include the Cantiamo Girls Choir for girls aged 12 – 19, Cantiamo Girls Apprentice Choir for girls aged 10 – 13, the Cantiamo Training Choir for girls and boys aged 7 to12 and the Cantiamo Primary Choir for girls and boys aged 5 – 7.Cantiamo is open to experiencing a wide variety of repertoire with a strong focus on Canadian composers. Since its 2003 inception, Cantiamo has premiered over 30 Canadian choral compositions! Cantiamo is dedicated to educational engagement and supporting singing in our schools through workshops for teachers and mentoring of school choirs. Cantiamo is the core support choir for the National Arts Centre’s 500 voice Music Monday choir. Cantiamo is proud to provide choral education mentoring for the Nipiit Katittut – Voices United (NKVU) exchange between Ottawa and Iqaluit as well as the Listen Up! Arts education project with the renowned Gryphon Trio.Aside from its regular concert series, the Cantiamo Girls Choir collaborates regularly with other arts groups, and performs in various hospitals, churches, retirement homes and supports a variety of community events. Cantiamo has participated in a number of festivals locally and nationally and was a feature choir at the Podium conference in Ottawa in 2012.See cantiamo.ca for further information.

The Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa and their musical guests will "spin you gold" through songs of happiness, faith, friendship and love of Canada in this spectacular year end concert. This concert will feature a wide variety of wonderful pieces celebrating the joy of singing, including the World Premiere of "Respira" a meditative, inspiring work for treble choir, piano and string quartet, by Ottawa composer Stephen Eisenhauer. We hope you'll join us!
