These hikes offer an opportunity to discover the beauty of Harewood Plains while learning about the landscape and the importance of protecting it.Our mission is to protect and celebrate Harewood Plains, a rare and irreplaceable landscape and is one of Nanaimo's natural treasure's.<h3>What to Expect</h3><ul><li>Guided interpretive hike at a moderate pace</li><li>Wildflowers, ecology, and natural history</li><li>Scenic viewpoints and seasonal wetlands</li><li>Learn about conservation efforts to protect Harewood Plains</li></ul><h3>Important – Please Read Before Registering</h3>These are moderate hikes, not flat walks. Participants should be comfortable:<ul><li>Walking on uneven natural terrain</li><li>Hiking for up to 2 hours</li><li>Navigating some steep slopes and rocky areas</li><li>We ask participants not to attend the event if they are feeling unwell, and to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene during the walk</li></ul>Please bring:<ul><li>Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes</li><li>Water bottle and light snack</li><li>Sun hat and sunscreen</li><li>Jacket or layers for changing weather</li></ul>Group sizes are intentionally kept small. Registration is required.
