Spring Equinox Yoga Flow
Akhanda style yoga class including breath work, mantra, meditation, asana (poses) and yogic wisdom, with live instrumental music.
Eric Yaremko completed his 200 hour yoga teacher training at Edmonton's Prana Yoga Studio in May of 2024. Trained in the Akhanda lineage of Yoga which is a holistic form of the ancient practice that includes breathwork, mantra, meditation, asana (poses) and yogic wisdom.
March 20th is the Spring Equinox, which marks the transition from winter into summer, when the sun crosses directly over the equator. This is a time of rebirth and renewal, as nature begins to show signs of new life and the days continue to brighten and lengthen. The contemplation of the Spring Equinox can provide an opportunity to look within, focusing on the parts of us that are essential - namely the breath. Through the phases of darkness and light of life, the same way that the trees preserve their essence even through the cold and dark of winter, we can always access our essence by connecting with the breath, and introducing slow and balancing movements for the body.
This class will be balancing and uplifting, as we move through a sequence of poses that allow the body to strengthen, relax, and cleanse.
This practice will be accompanied with instrumental music by Mikayla Bortscher, an Edmonton based musician, singer, songwriter, and beautiful harpist.
Beginners are welcome.
