11:00 am – 12:00pm - “Shooting Outdoor Sports like Soccer, Baseball and Rugby”
Join Rob Skeoch -Whether you’re heading to the diamond, the pitch or just the field down the road your trip should start with this lecture by Rob Skeoch on the best way to shoot these sports.
Each sport has it’s unique challenges and opportunities for great photos. Getting into position for the best angles, using the sun to your advantage, shooting in the rain, will all be discussed as will camera issues like lens selection, the best AF mode to use for best results and even which shutter speeds to start with. If you’re shooting sports this summer, make it easier on yourself by attending this lecture first.
1:00 pm – 2:00pm - "The Most Creative Portraits Express as Much About You as Your Subject"
Join Peter Stranks - Great portraits are often as much about how you see the world as they are wonderful expressions of your subject. So, jump into a whole new way of making images by using creative tools like point of view, perspective, lens choice and simple lighting ideas to go from taking pictures to making images.
You will learn fun and easy techniques from Peter Stranks, a photographer pulling from thirty years of shooting experience for magazines like Canadian Living and Today’s Parent, ad clients like Royal Bank and LCBO and films such as Cheaper by the Dozen 2, One Week, and Everyday.
3:00 pm – 4:00pm - “Take Your Photography to the Street” - In the summer life happens on the streets of Toronto and that’s where you’ll want to be making photos.
Join Graeme Roy, the Director of News Photography for the Canadian Press, to learn about street photography. It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbee or have been shooting on the streets for years as Graeme brings a fresh approach to street photography and has tips and ideas that will have you thinking “outside the postcard” as you see and shoot details in daily life that make Toronto so unique.

Plus you’ll learn about lighting, audio, data management and stabilization from several on site partners including experts from Gnarbox on-site only promotions ($30 Off ) and learn how to achieve cinematic movement in your videos with Rhino Gear.
