What exactly is an Unlock! game?

Accepted Answer

Unlock! scenarios are an escape room in a box. You'll use a deck of cards and the companion app to solve puzzles, put the pieces together, and enter your solutions to progress towards the finish line. You've got a maximum of 1 hour to complete it!

Question 2

Will we need to destroy or modify cards in any way?

Accepted Answer

Nope! Unlike some other escape room tabletop games, Unlock! scenarios are fully replayable, and rely on an app for reveals and progression. Please don't destroy or damage any of the pieces during play!

Question 3

What happens to the games afterwards?

Accepted Answer

You get to keep it! There are two more scenarios to play. And once your group has finished playing the scenarios, you can pass it on to someone else (or donate it to our Adopt a Game program at an Art Crawl!).

Question 4

I love Unlock! games, but can't make the event. Can I play at The Bard and Bear another time?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. Because the Unlock! games rely on an app, they're not regularly available in our library. If you want to try them out, you'll need to come to a Challenge event!

Question 5

Will smaller teams be at a disadvantage competing against larger teams?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily! While a 6 person team will have more hands to search through the deck of cards and find the right numbers, there's also that many more opinions and ideas. A well-oiled team of 2 could easily move through the scenario faster than a big group.

Will food and drink be available?

Accepted Answer

You're welcome to order food and drink to enjoy while you're here, just like a regular game night with us. Our full menu will be available.
