Description

Start Right is a full-day session designed to set you up with a range of tools including strategies for taking good notes, reading to remember, improving your academic writing and effective study habits.

Start Right is also a chance to interact with the Welcome Crew Mentors and Student Success Centre staff to discover how they can assist and support you throughout your university studies. Plus, there will be time to network with your fellow students during the catered lunch.

Undergraduate students from all faculties are welcome. Registration for Start Right is required.

Start Right is located in room H-110 in the Henry F. Hall Building.

Starting university can be quite different from CEGEP or high school: professors are more demanding, classes are harder and the workload is more intense. Managing your studies is an essential skill to become a successful student. Learn strategies to plan your time efficiently, get tips on how to have a successful first semester, and much more!

Learning from lectures involves more than just sitting in a class: it starts before your classes and continues throughout your academic journey. Learn strategies to improve your active listening and note-taking skills, hear from specialists on how to make the most of your lectures.
