STEMinar 2019

Beyond STEM is a youth-led organization founded with theobjective of encouraging secondary school students around the Lower Mainland to discover their passions in STEM, and introducing them to the many career opportunities in these fields. We organize various seminars, career fairs, and conferences throughout the academic year, open to all students at no cost.

Beyond STEM

ALL Lower Mainland high school students are invited to join us at Beyond STEM's FREE STEMinar event presented by SCWIST! With two speakers and several workshop options, students will have the opportunity to network with and learn from professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Attendees will be provided with opportunities to expand their learning in a fun, welcoming environment through hands-on activities beyond the classroom.

9:30 - 10:00: Sign In
10:00 - 10:15: Opening Remarks
10:15 - 11:00: Keynote Speaker - Dr. Peter Liljedahl
11:15 - 12:00: Workshop #1
12:00 - 12:45: Lunch
12:45 - 1:30: Workshop #2
1:45 - 2:30: Speaker: Dr. Peter O'Shea

Students are encouraged to arrive around 9:20 in order for the event to run smoothly.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for secondary school students to discover and follow their passions in STEM!
