We're kicking off Vancouver Marathon weekend our own way, with an unsanctioned race through the avenues and alleyways of East Vancouver.The format is simple! Show up to the start line ready for a run, we'll give you the info you need, then you'll run. There will be some plot twists thrown in along the way so it's up to the participants to devise their strategies and hope for the best result possible!Good luck!6:00pm - Pick-up starts 7:00pm - Race starts 8:00pm - Afterparty Stick around for the post-race party, prizes &amp; runner socialization at R&amp;B Brewing.It wouldn't be one of our GOOD LUCK event if there wasn't an element of goodwill. Money raised through entry fees will be donated directly to <a href="https://www.backpackbuddies.ca/" title="https://www.backpackbuddies.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BACKPACK BUDDIES</a>.*Please note, this is an unsanctioned, ungoverned event. Race at your own risk. All participants will have to sign the waiver in order to race.--------------------------------------------FAQsWhat is the route?Whoa whoa...not so fast. The checkpoint clues will be distributed at 6:59pm on race day. Depending on the route you take, you can expect to run about 8-10K.Is there a minimum age requirement to enter the event?This is an 19+ event.Is there a Waitlist?Yes, if this event fills up then there will be a waitlist.Are there Prizes?Yes, there will be random prizes from some amazing of our favourite partners.Is this race chip timed?Heck no...we might bring a stopwatch but otherwise, we will trust your navigational skills to do the hard work.I can't make the event now, what do I do?Let us know! We would love to fill your spot with someone else who would like to race!Will there be food/drinks available at the after party?Yes, we are partying at R&amp;B Brewing all night. They will have a food menu available but anything you buy is on you!How do I get home?Please plan your safe ride home! There are many options for public transit or taxis if you have had any drinks.What should I wear?Come prepared for the weather. Expect to be outside for 60-90 minutes so check the forecast! When in doubt, wear a costume.Anything random I need to know?As mentioned above, this is an unsanctioned event so our plan is to show up, run &amp; then walk away without disrupting anyone. I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE The Good Luck team, The City of Vancouver, his Majesty the King in Right of the province of British Columbia as requested by the Minister of Transportation together with the employees, agents and servants of the Minister, Parking Corporation of Vancouver and all other associations, sanctioning bodies and sponsoring companies, and elected and appointed officials, successors and assigns, OF AND FROM ALL claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of action, whether in law or equity, in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property HOWSOEVER CAUSED, arising or to arise by reason of my participation in the said event, whether as a spectator, participant, competitor or otherwise, whether prior to, during or subsequent to the event, AND NOTWITHSTANDING that same may have contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the aforesaid. Personal information collected by Good Luck, is for registration and results purposes only, and will not be shared with other companies or organizations. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all the foregoing to use any photography, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for promotional and public relation purposes, by Good Luck and the event sponsors, without compensation. I FURTHER HEREBY UNDERTAKE TO HOLD AND SAVE HARMLESS AND AGREE TO INDEMNIFY all of the aforesaid from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of, or in any way connected with my participation in the said event.
