Maren Kathleen Elliott's solo exhibition ‘Stringlism: Textures, Threads & Identity’ features textured art, online events & an artist talk

Maren Kathleen Elliott, an Edmonton native, is excited to launch her solo art exhibition, ‘Stringlism: Textures, Threads &amp; Identity’ online May 14 to 17th. The virtual gallery will be accessible all weekend from Thursday at 3pm to Sunday at 3pm.

While this exhibition was originally designed as an in-person show at the Edmonton Convention Centre, the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic requires more creative thinking to bring us all together without endangering health and safety. Stringlism will, therefore, be a virtual exhibition. The same weekend - Thursday May14th to Sunday May17th - will host the online gallery and events. The exhibition showcases both Maren&#x27;s art and the artistry of local creatives in an accessible and inclusive online format. "Stringlism" will feature a body of 11 large-scale portraits using Elliott’s unique method of glazing and layering crochet thread to represent the faces of people she has met through her life and through being an artist in Edmonton.
