We're hosting another one of our events here in Ottawa. Get ready for a beautiful and traditional girls night in a growing community!

Join Us for a Suhoor Reflections Evening 🌙

Imagine a night in Jannah, sitting together, eating, drinking, and reminiscing about the blessings of Allah with like-minded women. This special women-only evening is designed to bring that vision to life, a sahret banat blending spiritual reflection with meaningful connection. We’re transforming the space into a cozy, Ramadan-inspired gathering, where you can slow down, reflect, and share suhoor in the company of beautiful souls, all while remembering Allah and deepening our bonds with one another.

What to Expect

1. Optional Taraweeh (8:00 PM - 8:50 PM)

We will begin the evening with optional Taraweeh prayer. Together, we will pray 8 rak‘at, focusing on a steady and peaceful pace to bring us into a spiritual mindset. The prayer will provide a calm and grounding start to the night, helping us center ourselves before transitioning into the social portion of the evening.

2. Gentle Transition (10 minutes)

After the Taraweeh prayer, there will be a brief transition period where those who wish to remain in worship can do so. You’ll have time to offer additional prayers, reflect quietly, or make personal du‘a. The space will be gently shifted, with soft lighting and bukhoor, to create a peaceful atmosphere for the rest of the evening. During this time, the suhoor bites and tea will be prepared, and seating will be arranged for a cozy gathering.

3. Social Time (9:00 – 9:40 PM)

After the transition, we’ll open the space for socializing. This will be a time to grab a bite, enjoy tea or coffee, and settle in. It’s an opportunity to meet new friends, introduce yourself, and enjoy the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Feel free to mingle, chat, or reflect as you wish. Board games will also be available for anyone who’d like to engage in something fun while getting to know each other.

4. Opening Conversation & Theme (9:40 – 10:10 PM)

Once everyone has had a chance to settle in, we’ll start the opening conversation. We’ll introduce the theme for the night: “Realigning My Heart for the last 10 days”. This will be a guided discussion that encourages reflection on what we want to leave behind this Ramadan, how we hope to grow, and what small intentions we can set to make a meaningful impact.

5. Reflection Letters (10:10 – 10:30 PM)

After the conversation, we’ll move into a quiet reflection activity. Reflection cards will be distributed, giving everyone time to reflect and write down their thoughts based on the theme. This is a time for personal introspection, where you can write, process, and set your intentions for the last 10 days of Ramadan. If you feel comfortable, you can share your reflections with others, but the focus will be on personal growth.

6. Suhoor Social Time (10:30 – 11:30 PM)

As the reflection activity winds down, we’ll open the floor for more suhoor and socializing. Enjoy suhoor bites, tea, and coffee in a relaxed setting. This time will be for connecting, enjoying each other’s company, and wrapping up the evening with meaningful conversations. Feel free to enjoy a game, chat with new friends, or simply unwind before we close.
