SUMMIT 2023

IMPACT brings together a network of service providers to address shared issues, enhance services and supports across Alberta and identify opportunities for large scale change. This work will build the capacity of service providers across the province and enable Albertans affected by domestic violence to have access to high quality supports in their communities.

IMPACT's 2023 Member Summit is a chance to get more involved in IMPACT and primary prevention of domestic and sexual violence in Alberta!

Join us for Summit 2023! This year will feature two world-class keynote speakers, Dr. Jeff St. John and Mark Cabaj. At this conference, we will hear of IMPACT’s bold work to eradicate sexual and domestic violence since Summit 2021, and what the next steps are for primary prevention in Alberta. Our keynote speakers will explore the complexity of eradicating sexual and domestic violence and how to create measurable changes in our organizations to stop violence before it begins. Come be inspired to get more engaged in IMPACT and primary prevention, create deeper connections with other members and be activated with resources to eradicate sexual and domestic violence in Alberta!About the speakers:Jeff St. JohnDr. Jeff St. John is a thought-leader who works with themes of complexity and culture. With over two decades working with transformational change leaders in community and organizations, Jeff helps people discover their common humanity with others – helping people act deliberately, with intention and real-time assertiveness that paves the way for transformational change. He is the founder and CEO of the Bluerock Project and a co-founder of the Men &amp; project. In 2022, Jeff was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for his work in engaging men and boys in violence prevention. His approach helps us to understand the complexity of violence and encourages the sector to innovate and improve these processes.Mark CabajMark Cabaj is focused on developing practical ways to understand, plan and evaluate solutions for complex issues, including neighborhood renewal, poverty and homelessness, community safety, educational achievement and health. He is involved in building practices of developmental evaluation, which emphasizes real time feedback and learning in emerging, messy and sometimes fast-moving environments.Mark is currently the President of the consulting company From Here to There, a Thought Leader of the Tamarack Institute (since 2012), and a past Fellow of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation (2019-2020).
