<p>Triple O&#x27;s and Gallery spaces will be <strong>open</strong>.</p><p>Science World’s Extravagant Evenings for Teens are back, and ready for Halloween!</p><p>Boo! Teens, It’s the spine-chilling season and fun fear is all around us! Come explore what happens to your human brain and body when you’re terrified and learn how to create fearful content for others to enjoy. </p><p>Take a trip through our haunted theater, learn how to create your own special effects, experience some horror VR, and enjoy our LIVE SHOWS and creepy carnival games!</p><p></p><p>Be sure to explore interactive stations hosted by our featured guests from the <strong>Vancouver Film School,</strong> <strong>UBC&#x27;s School of Biomedical Engineering </strong>and<strong> The Pacific Museum of Earth!</strong></p><p></p><h3>Feature Presentation:</h3><h2>Cinematographer, Naim Sutherland</h2><p>7:15pm at Centre Stage </p><p><strong>Naim Sutherland</strong> is a Leo Award winning Cinematographer who has been in the film industry for over a decade. His projects have aired on TV and theatres all over North America and Korea and have been selected for multiple festivals across the globe including Cannes, Tribeca and TIFF.</p><p>Sutherland is a &quot;story first&quot; filmmaker. He works to find a point of view from which to base visual decisions.   The story, and the emotional subtext of scenes guides his thinking on camera placement, lighting, lens and colour choices.</p><p>He likes to create a visual journey for the audience, taking them on a ride.  Cinematography is best when it is bold and evocative, but grounded firmly in story.  In this way, Sutherland is able to explore stylistic elements for projects to give them a striking, unique and unforgettable look, while avoiding style for its own sake.  </p><h3></h3><h3>Check out  our Guest Exhibitors!  </h3><h2>Vancouver Film School: </h2><h3>Horror Special Effects: Prosthetics &amp; Makeup, </h3><h3>h﻿osted by Claire, Brooklyn and Grace</h3><p>Watch a live demo by a Vancouver Film School graduate as they explore creating fear through prosthetics and make up special effects!</p><p></p><h2>Pacific Museum of Earth: </h2><h3>Eons of Death, hosted by Daniel </h3><p>L﻿earn about (and touch!) the remains of ancient creature&#x27;s who&#x27;ve been dead for eons, but still have the power to captivate your imagination! </p><p><strong>Daniel </strong>has been working in museums since he was 14. He’s been at the Pacific Museum of Earth as their only full time staffer for four years. He enjoys dinosaurs… and non-dinosaurs!</p><p></p><h2>U﻿BC School of Biomedical Engineering: </h2><h3>Measuring Fear, hosted by Saud and Suliat</h3><p>Working closely with wearable sensor technologies, you will focus on the physiological meaning of fear and methods of detecting, visualizing, and understanding it!</p><p><strong>Suliat</strong> is a second-year biomedical engineering masters student at UBC, and is working on wearable sensing in soccer! In her free time (what free time?) she likes to crochet and run with friends! You can sometimes catch her walking around with a ball of yarn and a half-finished project in her hands</p><p></p><p><strong>Saud</strong> is a first-year Biomedical Engineering PhD student at UBC, working on the development of a wearable sensor system for the detection of cardiac arrest, with a background in biomaterials engineering In his free time, he likes to sing, write poetry, and run!
