Event description

Description

Join Liz Purves, Bird Studies Canada's Ontario SwiftWatch Coordinator, to learn all about the endearing Chimney Swift, a Threatened bird that calls Toronto home.

Meet at the Allan Gardens Children's Conservatory at 7:30 pm for a 'swift' introduction and some tea/coffee and goodies. We will then walk over to Moss Park (Queen St and Jarvis St) to watch the amazing spectacle of hundreds of Chimney Swifts spiralling into the Moss Park Armoury chimney to rest overnight. This is the largest known spring roost in Toronto, and has hosted over 1,000 swifts in a single night!

Rain or shine - please dress for the weather.

This event is part of the 2018 Toronto Bird Celebration, coordinated by Bird Studies Canada.
