Systematic Review Essentials 2022Instructors: Alex Goudreau, MLIS, and Richelle Witherspoon, MLIS.UNB Libraries is offering a fast-paced free 3-day workshop which will cover the essentials of conducting a high-quality, publishable systematic review. This workshop will be held using a hybrid model, offering both in-person and synchronous online options. In person classes will be held on the UNB Saint John Campus. Virtual attendees will be added to the Microsoft Team for this workshop.There will be six 2-hour classes over three days. Each classes will run for 2 hours, and typically be divided into 1 hour of lecture and a 1 hour group engagement and learning opportunity. All class times are in Atlantic Daylight Time.<ul><li>May 3, 9:00am - 11:00am		 Getting started with your systematic review</li><li>May 3, 12:00pm - 2:00pm		 Developing a search strategy (Part 1)</li><li>May 4 , 9:00am - 11:00am 		Developing a search strategy (Part 2)</li><li>May 4, 12:00pm - 2:00pm		 Database and searching practice</li><li>May 5, 9:00am - 11:00am Article screening and grey literature</li><li>May 5, 12:00pm - 2:00pm 		 Critical appraisals and data extraction</li></ul>If there is a session that you are unable to attend, recordings from the previous year are available through the Knowledge Synthesis and Systematic Reviews webpage on the UNB Libraries website.

Before you register:If you are not already familiar with systematic reviews as a research methodology, please watch this short video before registering for this workshop.

Also, please be advised that this workshop concentrates on the research component of conducting a review. We do not cover how to write a review. While attending this workshop will empower you to be active contributors to a review, we still advise individuals who have not done a review before to partner with an experienced systematic review or knowledge synthesis researcher.Note: Registration is limited to UNB students, staff and faculty only.
