Dr. Charles Leitz chronicles the interplay of architecture and the occult, from medieval Europe to contemporary Victoria

In this talk, illustrated with illuminated manuscripts and the speaker’s own photographs, Charles chronicles the interplay of architecture and the occult, from secret alchemical laboratories to bridges built by the devil, from a 10th century church to a 20th century Goethe scholar, and from medieval Europe to contemporary Victoria.

Dr. Charles Leitz is an associate curator at Wentworth Villa. Before coming to Wentworth, he did academic research on medieval European intellectual history, and especially on the history of demonology.
