A Bi-weekly creative workshop series on orienting towards your Mind as a Muse. Weaving together conversation, psychoeducation & artmaking
Spring | Mind as Muse
The Mycelium is a space to create in circle with folks feeling into collective transformation. Each week we will gather, share, artmake and collaborate in fresh visions of regenerative futures.
This Spring we will be focusing on the concept of the Mind as a Muse.
We often forget that our thoughts travel through physical neural pathways in our brains. Tracks carved by our ancestry and embodied experiences. In a society where personal traumas are compounded by structural oppression, in a city experiencing an epidemic of loneliness we have become armoured by this dysregulation. Many of us live in survival mode and our perception of our relationships warps itself through this circuitry. As we tip towards intensifying global conflict and climate catastrophe, it is lifesaving work to cultivate communities where we learn the skills of communication, vulnerability, conflict resolution, and generative dream weaving.
We have all been trained in critique, suspicion and cynicism, but do we know how to celebrate, soften and delight? In this drop in, arts-based course we will investigate the intricacies of our neural pathways and explore the rewriting of our internal scripts, so that rather than barring us from pain, they seek connection. Like the Mycelium beneath the ground, let us remember how to reach into the dark with all the nourishment we have to give, receptive to what others have to share with us. Let us reorient towards the light and breathe life into the human spirit this Spring.
