What portion of the ticket price will go towards the scholarship?

Accepted Answer

Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, we have reduced event costs to maximize support for the David E. Platts Memorial Scholarship at McGill University. As part of our $100,000 goal, $100–$150 from each ticket is expected to support first-year law students reflecting David’s values.

Question 2

Is it true that all the volunteers purchased a ticket despite working all the hours? Why?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every volunteer (and planning team) purchased a ticket as a personal commitment to our $100K fundraising goal. While many are also donating significant time and effort, a ticket helps offset event costs and maximize net proceeds for the David E Platts Memorial Scholarship at McGill University.

What is the dress code?

Accepted Answer

David loved bright colors, come Cocktail Chic in bright colors! Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Question 4

I heard we are suppose to bring a orange ball or an orange teddy bear - is that true?

Accepted Answer

Yes if possible! We will accept all balls and teddy bears and we plan on donating to the Children's Cancer Centre @ Montreal's Children's Hospital.

Question 5

I notice the doors open at 5:30 pm. Is this just cocktails or  will dinner be part of the program?

We know everyone is busy, so this is a come and go event. We hope you will stay for the entire evening. There will be food stations and lots of wine, bubbles. mocktails and gin and tonic!

Question 6

Will there be tickets for purchase at the door?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We ask everyone to purchase on line so we can plan properly, But if you decide at last minute to purchase a ticket, we will have some available at the door.

If I want to make a more substantial gift, can I do it at the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes of course!
