The Somatic Sensory Shift: A Blindfolded Practice

The Somatic Sensory Shift: A Blindfolded Practice

By Jody Duff.

Overview

Turn off the noise. Amplify your internal awareness.

We spend our lives visually overstimulated, constantly processing the world outside. By safely removing your sense of sight with an eye mask, we shift the focus to interoception—the ability to feel your body from the inside out. This slow Hatha practice is a deep, meditative experience for the senses.

  • The Focus: Blindfolded low to the floor movement, deep tension release, and auditory immersion.
  • The Goal: To tune into and listen to the non verbal communication of the body and experience movement as pure sensation, quiet the inner critic and deepen your relationship with self.
  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Level: All levels welcome.
  • What to Bring: A yoga mat and water. (Silk eye masks provided for use during class).
  • Date: April 26th 1:30pm - 3:00pm (unheated)
Category: Health, Yoga
