Humber College - The Unlearning Circle

Please join Humber's Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Taskforce at the upcoming virtual launch of The Unlearning Circle.

Humber is forming The Unlearning Circle, a group for white identified Humber employees interested in dismantling whiteness. The Unlearning Circle aims to provide a space for white people to examine how they have been conditioned by white supremacy and how it shows up in their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and within their institutions. This group will work to help members unpack whiteness ideology and unlearn it.The Unlearning Circle was a key EDI Taskforce recommendation included in Humber’s EDI Framework and Strategy which seeks to deliver on Humber’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan commitment to building a healthy and inclusive college community.The launch agenda includes remarks from:<ul><li>Christopher Whitaker, President and CEO</li><li>Lori Diduch and Jason Hunter, EDI Taskforce Executive Sponsors</li><li>Ian Crookshank, EDI Taskforce co-lead</li><li>The Unlearning Circle&#x27;s members via a short video </li></ul>Join The Unlearning Circle by reaching out to Regan Mancini and Lisa Salem-Wiseman. The first meeting will be held in January 2022.
