<h3>Why are we Rebranding?</h3> After 38 years serving Waterloo Region as The AIDS Committee of Cambridge Kitchener Waterloo and Area (ACCKWA), we have decided to update our name to reflect the ever growing and evolving landscape of HIV. The staff of ACCKWA have spent the past several months conducting surveys with our participants and community members in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington to get a better understanding of how they see us, our services, and what’s important to the community as a whole in our future. We held three town hall meetings where the results of these surveys were shares and discussed. During these meetings, the decision of what our new name will be was made together.Moving forward, we will now be known as Thrive HIV Prevention &amp; Support.To answer why we are moving in this direction, we would like to share a statement from Greg, our Support Coordinator and a long-term survivor:<blockquote>“The name change to ‘Thrive’ signifies a powerful shift in the narrative surrounding HIV/AIDS. It reflects the remarkable advancements in medical treatments, increased life expectancy, and the evolving understanding of the virus. By adopting the name ‘Thrive’, this agency will be aligning itself with the evolving realities of HIV.
