We are an agency poised and working to help businesses, non-profits and institutions reinvigorate the spirit of Treaty into their organizations and build the bridges they need to cross into terrain they have not ventured into before.

Naheyawin

Curious to learn more about Indigenous peoples and how you can be a part of Reconciliation? 
Tools for Reconciliation is a full-day intensive workshop that takes a deep dive into the history, concepts, and practical tools for all those that wish to do their part in mending the relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. We welcome participants at any level of education and exposure to Indigenous ideas and history.
Students of Tools for Reconciliation will gain the skills, tools, and language to:

Discuss the worldviews of Indigenous peoples, how they differ from those of non-Indigenous peoples, and how that has influenced the relationship between those groups throughout the history of Canada.
</LI>
<LI>
Understand the changing nature of the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada and how that has brought us to our contemporary relationship.
</LI>
<LI>
Confidently use proper terminology and discuss the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as well as the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
</LI>
<LI>
Understand the roles, benefits, and responsibilities of being a person that has committed to the renewal of the Treaty relationship we have inherited as Canadians.
</LI>
<LI>
Carry out basic traditional protocols such as smudging and presenting traditional tobacco protocol to a knowledge keeper.
</LI>
<LI>
From a place of compassion, understand how to approach being a part of Reconciliation in Canada.
</LI>
</UL>
At the end of the session, students will also receive an official certificate of completion that recognizes the training they received.
