Tractorgrease at Cowork Chilliwack presents Songwriters Unite!

Overview

An intimate night of music and storytelling. Get ready to jam and celebrate original tunes with fellow music lovers.

Cowork Chilliwack will transform into a vibrant roots-music hub on Friday, October 23 at 8:00 PM, hosting a premier edition of Songwriters Unite. Capitalizing on the creative energy surrounding the Chilliwack Independent Film Festival premiere of One More Song: The Story of Tractorgrease, this special showcase offers a dedicated night of live music and raw, behind-the-scenes storytelling for loyal local clientele. Hosted by Tractorgrease founder Jeff Bonner, the evening brings together a collaborative circle of independent artists to swap songs and shares the stage with incredible musical friends. The event features two renowned heavyweights of the Canadian alternative country and roots music scene:

  • Ridley Bent: A seven-time BC Country Music Association (BCCMA) award winner and CCMA nominee, Ridley Bent has cemented his reputation as one of Western Canada's premier roots singer-songwriters. Known for his trademark narrative style that blends country, rock, and Americana grooves, Bent populates his songs with a vivid, road-worn cast of outlaws, characters, and western tales.
  • Jay Gavin: Transitioning from years as a touring punk and metal bassist back to his roots in outlaw country and bluegrass, Prince Edward Island native Jay Gavin brings fierce authenticity and high energy to the stage. His 2024 album Road Ready shot to #1 on the Alt-Country specialty radio charts, solidifying his voice as an expert musical storyteller with a foot-stomping, John Prine-esque human touch.

"With so many exceptional artists and special guests hanging around Chilliwack for the film release and the Tractorgrease Revival show, we wanted to create an intimate space where our close community could experience these songwriters up close," says host Jeff Bonner. "Songwriters Unite is all about stripping away the big band production and getting straight to the heart of the music and the stories that built them."

Tickets are $20 and seating is limited so buy tickets early. Doors at 7:30, shows starts promptly at 8:00.
