We're so happy to present our Earth Month 2023 Events!

Join us for a fun day of volunteering to celebrate Earth Month! P﻿lanting Partner: TreeFolksTreeFolks&#x27; mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.Learn more at: https://www.treefolks.org/E﻿vent Description:TreeFolks is organizing a tree care and mulching workday for 27 5-gallon trees planted in October 2021 as part of a project to increase urban canopy equity in Austin. The city has seen a 25% reduction in tree canopy cover over the past 30 years, which is disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities in disinvested areas like Franklin Park neighborhood. The event is necessary to provide basic tree care, such as mulching, watering, weeding, and light pruning to retain moisture around roots, prevent weed growth, and protect trees from extreme temperatures. Meeting Point: Volunteers will meet in front of the school.Please remember to: WearSturdy closed-toe shoes or boots with good traction.Long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect your skin from scratches and insect bites.Layers of clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.A hat or cap to protect your head and face from the sun.BringA reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.Sunscreen and bug spraySnacks if you&#x27;re a snack-y personA positive attitudeIf you registered for the event and have to cancel, please get in touch with events@onetreeplanted.org We look forward to seeing you there!
