SHIFT NWT is a non-profit organization advancing active mobility across the Northwest Territories through research, advocacy, and community-based initiatives that foster safer public spaces and stronger community connections.The YK Healthy Urban Policy Team is a volunteer group supported by SHIFT NWT that received a 2025 Planning Grant for Implementing Healthy Urban Policy through the Healthy Cities Research Initiative from 8 80 Cities and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research to support healthy urban planning and active transportation work in Yellowknife.

Snowkings' Winter Festival

<p>Join SHIFT NWT, YK Healthy Urban Policy Team, Yellowknife Mountain Bike Club, and Overlander Sports for this fun event next to the Snow Castle. We will have a variety of winter bikes for people to try out, so be sure to get tickets and dress warmly! Participants will be entered to win some great prizes. <br>A big thanks to the Get Active Grant!</p>
