TSA Year End BASH 2023

Established in 1887, the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) is a non-profit volunteer-led organization dedicated to bringing people together to discuss, learn and explore around our shared passion for the built environment. We are committed to the betterment of our city and have played an important advocacy role throughout Toronto’s history. We do this through a wide range of programs which foster welcoming and inclusive forums for debate and the exchange of ideas, stimulating critical thinking about the design and building issues of our time.

<h3>The TSA BASH—Toronto’s architectural community's biggest celebration—is back!</h3>A long-established tradition, the TSA's annual year-end BASH is an opportunity for the GTA's architecture and design community to come together and celebrate in unique spaces across out city. No two years are alike, with a new featured venue chosen every year and the party tailored to reflect the design stories behind the building. Great food, delicious drinks and beautiful architecture—there is no better way to celebrate our city and those who shape it!Attending the BASH is also a great way of supporting the work of the TSA, allowing us to continue to produce programs that promote and celebrate architecture in Toronto and the surrounding region.

<h2>2023 Venue: O'Keefe Centre</h2>A landmark party like this deserves a fitting venue, and this year we are bringing the party to one of Toronto’s most important mid-century icons: the former O’Keefe Centre (now Meridian Hall)!Designed by Earle C. Morgan and Page &amp; Steele, with Peter Dickinson as its chief designer, interiors by Herbert Irvine and landscapes by Dunnington Grubb, the O’Keefe Centre has been an architectural and cultural landmark since its opening in 1960. Its dramatic entrance canopy cantilevers 15.8 metres over the entranceway, and its well-preserved interiors feature extensive use of carrara marble, black granite, and bronze, as well as an expansive 30-metre-long mural by R. <h1>FAQ</h1>Is my registration/ticket transferable?TSA Member Tickets are NON-transferable and valid only for the registered named ticket holder. Non-Member tickets are fully transferable since they are full price. Refunds are available up to 48 hours before the event.If I am a TSA Member, can I buy tickets for friends or family who are not members, but still pay the Member ticket rate?Each discounted Member Ticket must be registered to a unique TSA Member (max 1 ticket per TSA Member). All member tickets will be checked against membership lists. Not a member yet? General membership is only $65 and includes tons of free and discounted events throughout the year. <a href="https://www.joinit.org/o/tsa" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Click here to join! </a>Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?YES! To make check in as easy as possible, please have your ticket displayed on your smartphone for easy scanning. If you don’t have a smartphone, we are able to check in guests using the full name as it appears on the ticket. Will there be tickets available at the door to purchase?The TSA BASH often sells out, so we encourage you to purchase your ticket online in order to avoid disappointment. If space is available, tickets will be available at the door (exact change only). What is the refund policy?Refunds for online ticket purchases are available up to 48 hours before the event. Within 48 hours of the event no refunds will be permitted. To request a refund, please email tsa@torontosocietyofarchitects.ca.How do I get to the event on the TTC/GO?The closest subway station and GO Train station to this year’s venue is Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, Meridian Hall is just a two short blocks walk east (approx. 600 m), along Front Street East.Where is the nearest parking?There is no on-site parking at this venue, except for a limited number of spaces for guests with accessible needs, so we highly recommend taking public transit if possible. Public parking can be found at several lots in the local area, including at 181 Bay Street (Brookfield Place), 1 Scott Street (public lot), and 25 The Esplanade (public lot).Where can I park my bike?There are many bike racks outside of the venue (please ensure you bring your bike lock!), and if you are using Bike Share, you can dock your bike at the Front Street East / Scott Street dock, one block east of the venue.Is the venue accessible?The lobby of Meridian Hall is fully accessible, with an available elevator to the other floors if needed. There are accessible washrooms located on all levels, including several gendered washrooms on the east side of the lobby, and on the west side there are individual gender-neutral washrooms and a universal washroom.
