Everyone has their own vision and style; At 613 DIY Night, each project is as unique as the individual who created it, regardless of skill level.Our DIY meet ups will be held at various local restaurants and venues in the Ottawa area and offers a chance for people to connect and be social while unleashing their inner creativity! PLEASE ENSURE YOU PROVIDE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN PURCHASING TICKET via EVENTBRITE TO ENSURE PROPER COMMUNICATION. Come join young entrepreneur Katia of Koala Kids Workshops and Nataliya and discover this ancient tradition and add unique eggs to your Easter basket this year. A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to in scribe", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax. The Batik technique uses hot wax and batik paint. Included in Kit: - hot wax Tool - wax block - Candle Not included: - egg - dyes (this can be made at home): You can make your own natural dye by boiling red cabbage, beets, blueberries, onion skin, turmeric, coffee, red tea,and adding vinegar: 1-2 tables spoons per 500 ml of liquid or you can use any other commercially available dye that you usually use for dyeing eggs.
