Understanding the Mind: a Buddhist perspective with Gen Kelsang Suma
About this event
This class is being offered by live-stream for people in Barrie and the surrounding areas. Registrants will receive a link allowing them to watch and listen by phone, tablet or computer.
This series of classes is a practical guide to understanding our mind. We will learn how to recognize our painful ways of thinking and, with practice, to replace them with deeply meaningful and beneficial states of mind. How? Using wisdom, mindfulness and meditation.
Although part of a series, each class is self-contained, and consists of guided meditation, a teaching, and time for questions and discussion. The following topics will be explored:
An Introduction to the Mind
Constructive Views and Attitudes
Choosing Patient Acceptance Over Anger
Choosing Contentment Over Dissatisfaction
Choosing Humility Over Pride
Choosing Love Over Selfishness
Choosing Generosity Over Miserliness
Choosing Wisdom Over Ignorance
