Mary Tevlin from Gamblin Oil Colours demonstrates the many uses of Gamblin's Cold Wax Medium.

Gamblin's Cold Wax is a medium that was been around for quite some time, but is currently seeing a huge rise in popularity!Traditionally, Cold Wax has been used to build volume and texture with oil paints, allowing painters to use less paint to get amazing results. But cold wax has its other uses as well; some painters use it to modify the sheen of the usually glossy finish of oil paints, to give a satin or matte result to their paintings.Recently it has been put to use for varnishing oil paintings, and sealing watercolour paintings on paper.

Artist Mary Tevlin will start this 90 minute Zoom session with a chat on how Gamblin Cold Wax Medium works, including drying times and it's uses with oil paints and other oil painting mediums. This will be followed by how to modify the glossiness of a painting with Cold Wax, and finally, varnishing oil and watercolour paintings with this medium.We ask that you hold your questions until the second half of the session, where Mary will be happy to go into detail with your queries. Gwartzman's will be providing a discount towards any Gamblin purchase made after the demo. A recording will be made available to any attendees after the presentation.
