Celebrate the conclusion of our Canada 150 events at Vaughan Loves Reading, an after-hours evening for Vaughan's literati with the launch of a compilation of local writers' works in Voices of Vaughan: a Canada 150 Anthology and a reading by best-selling and award-winning author of Lullabies for Little Criminals, Heather O'Neill! For adults 19+.

6:30pm: Reception

  • Guests arrive and enjoy wine, cheese, and mingle with other guests
  • Live music featuring members of the Aurora Quartet
  • VPL Colouring Book available for perusal and Official World Record Attempt of the Canada 150 Flag available to sign

7:00pm: Author Reading

  • Heather O’Neill to read from her new book, “The Lonely Hearts Hotel”
  • Discussion of her life as a Canadian author and her unique experiences as a Canadian
  • Q & A

8:00pm: Anthology Unveiling

  • Official presentation of “Voices of Vaughan: A Canada 150 Anthology”
  • Reading from the book by one of the contributors
