We care about Jewish food, the culture that surrounds it, its preservation and modernization. Jewish Montreal is made up of a diversity of communities and food cultures, and yet there is also a lack of deliciously updated Jewish cuisine. We want to fill that void by bringing the modern trend of pop-up dinners to Montreal’s Jewish community and create spaces for Montrealers to connect to the Jewish community through food.

The Wandering Chew

Passover is right around the corner and we&#x27;ve heard from many of you that matzah is hard to find. Great news! We&#x27;re going back to our roots and making matzah at home - just like the Israelites did in Egypt - albeit with electricity and running water. After our hugely successful Montreal Bagel Workshop we&#x27;re having our second FREE virtual cooking class where we&#x27;ll guide you through the steps of making homemade matzah, all while talking about the history of this iconic unleavened bread. The process is simple and easy to follow, and we&#x27;ll be showing you how to make matzah with different kinds of flours to accommodate whatever you have in your pantry right now. There isn&#x27;t much advanced recipe required! Just get the ingredients ready - we&#x27;ll be posing the ingredient list very soon - preheat your oven, and you can make matzah right along with us. Join us on Sunday, April 5th from 3-4 pm on Zoom. To access the Zoom link, please RSVP using Eventbrite. The event is free and once you sign up, you&#x27;ll be sent the link to access the virtual workshop.
