Andrea Sampson is the CEO and founder of Efe Magazine, the beauty industry’s first multicultural trade publication. Andrea is best known for her electric and charismatic performances as a platform artist in the beauty industry over the last 25+ years. Her brand is best personified by her show “BIG Tease” which has been an industry staple for the past eight years. BIG Tease brought in over 700 of the industry top artists year after year. The success of her show has led to the birth of the VZN Awards; an international image-based competition. Additionally, Andrea brings with her 15+ years of salon, sales and education experience.  She has been an incredibly influential figure in the beauty industry, travelling nationally for the past 10 years as a keynote speaker. Andrea has written for many publications including Elle, Flair, Toronto Life, Sharp Magazine, LouLou, Canadian Living, and Fashion Magazine. Prior to founding Efe Magazine, Andrea spent five years as a National director of Education and Spokesperson. She’s been featured regularly on National TV outlets such as Breakfast Television, The Social, E-Talk, CityLine and Marilyn Denis. Andrea is a certified master colourist, multicultural expert, and texture connoisseur. Though she is no longer behind the chair, she prides herself in being a hairdresser first. Andrea is a vibrant personality with a true passion for the Canadian beauty industry.

The VZN awards has created a new standard for industry awards. We have curated unique entrance categories that will allow high calibre artists to showcase their creative capabilities. Categories include hair and makeup, while our show highlights all areas of beauty such as Fashion, music, dance, photography, and visual arts. The VZN awards is an ‘Oscar-like’ event that brings creatives together to celebrate, recognize and acknowledge extraordinary VZN. Come dressed to impress and watch as we reveal the 2nd round of ‘VZNaries’ within the beauty industry.
