Overview

Beginners welcome! It's easier than you think to draw and paint beautiful florals!

In this beginner friendly workshop for adults, we'll experiment with watercolours and other complementary media to learn techniques you can use to produce beautiful floral paintings. Each student will produce a bundle of mini-paintings to keep, display, give away, make into cards or whatever use inspires you!

No experience or supplies necessary. Just bring your imagination and enthusiasm!


We'll cover:

Watercolour basics

Brush care

Different papers and their qualities

Wet on wet technique

Wet on dry techniques

Brush techniques/control

Composition basics

Creating texture, flow, balance and harmony

What to look for when buying paints and other art supplies


This would not be complete if we didn't address mindset. This workshop is a judgement-free zone and we'll talk about how to quiet that talkative inner critic who may have opinions about your art journey.


*All art supplies will be provided, including a wide selection of professional quality paints, markers, gel pens and more. This will give you a chance to play with supplies and decide which you like best before investing in your own.



This workshop is perfect for you if:

- You have an itch to create but don't know where to start.- You love the idea of painting flowers, and want some guidance to get you going.

- You have some art experience and want to expand your horizons.- You like to doodle or colour in adult colouring books and want to take things to the next level.- You like the idea of art as a meditative practice.


W e start with 4 simple flowers and 4 simple leaves. From there, we explore variations and compositions to create an unlimited amount of beautiful artworks.


* Includes all supplies and a mini-book to take home!
