Who will be teaching at the event?

In short, everyone! Knowledge exchanges are less about one person teaching a group and more about groups sharing stories in an effort to problem solve. Community-based learning!

Question 2

Do I need experience with wetlands to participate?

Accepted Answer

It is good to have some level of understanding about wetlands indicators (soil, vegetation ,water) prior to. However, we need other experiences as well! Folks who are in different disciplines (e.g., aquatic biologist) or people who consider wetlands as part of development are welcome!

Question 3

Do I need to bring anything to participate?

Accepted Answer

We will be reach out to the registrants prior to the event with a gear list (e.g., shovels, guidebooks, etc.). A pair of rubber boots and clothes suitable for outdoor work are the minimum requirements.

DUC will provide Wetland Classification guides for the event.

Question 4

Can I bring out my whole team?

Accepted Answer

We'd love that but we want to make sure there is a wide variety of people able to attend. As a result, we ask that registrations are limited to two per company.

Fear not though, if you are looking for a larger, more specific wetlands training for your company, please contact r_murray@ducks.ca

Who is this event catered to?

Accepted Answer

People local to the Peace Region who are involved in the classification of wetlands, planners and operators who deal with wetlands as part of the projects, staff who wish to learn about the topic (including students), and anyone enthusiastic about wetlands.
