Craig joined IAMGOLD in 2012 as Vice President, Exploration and was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President, Exploration. Throughout his career, Craig has demonstrated a focus on identifying and achieving strategic corporate growth initiatives to create shareholder value with a track record of deposit discovery, resource delineation and evaluation, project generation and acquisitions, along with a reputation for building and leading successful discovery oriented multidisciplinary teams. As an accomplished senior executive in both major and junior base and precious metals mining and exploration companies, Craig has over 30 years of experience in domestic and international exploration in Africa, Australia and South America. Prior to joining IAMGOLD, Craig worked for the Falconbridge/ Noranda Group in roles of increasing responsibility for nearly 20 years, before taking a position as President and CEO of a TSX-V junior listed exploration company. He holds a B.Sc. with Honours in Geology from Mount Allison University and a M. Sc. in Earth Sciences from Memorial University.BIO: MARC LAVERDIEREDespite years of arranging and conducting his own private tastings for friends, Marc Laverdiere had his tongue planted firmly in-cheek when he approached a brand manager at a 2006 whisky festival in Toronto, proposing that he become an official spokesperson for his two all-time favourite single malts. Several discussions later, Marc’s charm and encyclopaedic knowledge of the spirit earned him the privilege of being named Canada’s Brand Ambassador for The Macallan and Highland Park Scotch Whiskies. Marc has been traveling Canada to conduct some of the most engaging master classes and tutorials in the business, building relations within the spirits industry and educating both trade professionals and the public about how to get the most from their drams. His contribution has been acknowledged at Blair Castle in Scotland where he was inducted as life member of The Keepers of the Quaich, an exclusive Scotch Whisky Society. Marc consistently wins audiences over with his story-telling style, self-deprecating wit and decidedly light-hearted approach to appreciating the spirit. “People who like whisky like people who like whisky,” he says. Originally from Quebec City, he makes his home in Newmarket, Ontario, where he presides over an impressive and eclectic personal collection of single malt whisky.
