Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is a non-profit society and charitable organization that supports the growth and success of the arts in Wood Buffalo. ACWB was established to raise the profile of the arts in our region and to provide support to all facets of the arts community.ACWB offers a variety of services and events that: build the capacity of our local artists to compete and thrive; enable collaborations between artists, arts organizations, non-profits, and industry; and, advocate for our region’s arts municipally, provincially, and federally.Through these initiatives, Arts Council Wood Buffalo is fostering an environment that embraces the arts as integral to a remarkable quality of life.

Learn the basics of wood carving with Michelle Foran!

Discover the timeless art of whittling in this hands-on outdoor workshop led by Michelle Foran. Participants will be introduced to the basic principles of working with wood and learn safe techniques for using carving tools. After a guided introduction, you’ll have the chance to put your skills into practice by whittling your own keepsake to take home.This workshop is designed for beginners and is suitable for ages 16 and up. Youth ages 12–15 are welcome with adult supervision for the duration of the session.$15 with advance registration. Limited spots may be available at the door for $20.
