Winter Fruit Tree and Shrub Pruning workshop for Beginners
Feeling intimidated about growing a fruit tree or shrub in your yard? Check out this workshop in support of Treemobile!
If you have ever wanted to buy a fruit tree but felt intimidated about how to care for it
OR
bought fruit trees and neglected them or given those trees bad haircuts
... this is the workshop for you!
Adrian from Design Jam Permaculture and Erin from Blue Dot Acres are both volunteers for TransitionTreemobile.org , a volunteer run organization that promotes local food sustainability through fruit tree and shrub sales. Adrian is offering his tree pruning expertise and Erin is offering her farm as the host location for this Fruit tree pruning workshop.
This workshop is normally $30-50 per person and is being offered at a VERY GENEROUSLY DISCOUNTED rate of $10 by Adrian and Erin as a way to promote Treemobile plant sales. This type of workshop is rarely offered in Burlington, let alone at such a discounted price, so this is a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence with others who are new to fruit tree pruning.
About the workshop;
- The workshop will be mostly outdoors, so dress for outdoor weather
- Bring your questions about tree planting location, soil conditions, cross-pollination or if that all sounds too complicated, just know what kind of tree or shrub you bought or intend to buy from Treemobile
About Treemobile;
- Empower people to achieve food security by planting and growing their own food
- Make seasonal organics locally accessible
- Improve the urban canopy
- an NFP powered by volunteers and sponsored by those that buy plants from Treemobile's annual plant sale
- 2026 Annual plant sale is open - purchase plants now and pick up your plants at Blue Dot Acres the first weekend in May!
