So you’ve got the part…now what? Learn effective techniques to create a dynamic character by leaning into the playwrights’ instincts.

Or maybe you were lucky enough to get the script to prep for the audition…what are some ways you, the actor, can make the most out of the blueprint so your character is free to play? What clues does the script already give you? Where are the gems? Where can you fill in the gaps? How do you best serve the script and let the script serve you?A resilient actor does their homework and is secure enough to trust letting it evolve at the audition, in rehearsals, or during performance. Come delve into the details of one character in Kevin Loring’s Governor General Award Winning Play Where the Blood Mixes. This workshop offers effective techniques to create a dynamic character by leaning into the playwrights’ instincts.---------------------The title of the play Where The Blood Mixes comes from the N’lakap’mux place name Kumsheen, the location of the town now named Lytton. Here is where the Fraser and Thompson Rivers meet. ‘The place inside the heart where the blood mixes’ is a more direct translation*. Adele is grateful for Kevin’s permission to use his text for the workshop. Adele Noronha BioAdele’s heart forever sits on the West Coast of two countries at the opposite ends of the world. She is an award-winning actor and a dabbler in a number of theatre-making disciplines. Acting credits include : Guards at The Taj (South Asian), Happy Place and Brothel #9 (Touchstone Theatre), The Only Good Indian (Pandemic Theatre), The Orchard (Arts Club Theatre) and 3 seasons at Bard on the Beach.Adele’s favourite descriptions of her performance work cite it as ‘nuanced,’ ‘fearlessly honest,’ ‘dynamic’ and ’simple’.Adele is a graduate of Studio 58.
