Overview

This Zoom workshop is for strata treasurers who have experience using VISOA's ©STRATACCOUNT accounting program and want to learn more.

©STRATACCOUNT is a simple Excel accounting package to help strata treasurers maintain the strata’s books and easily produce financial statements which comply with the requirements of the Strata Property Act and Regulation. No accounting or bookkeeping expertise is required.

The Level 1 workshop covered the basics of setting up the budget page, calculating strata fees, using monthly ledgers to record revenue and expenses, producing monthly and annual financial statements, and recording contingency reserve fund revenue and expenses.

This level 2 workshop goes into more detail:

  • Entering an operating budget to eliminate a prior year deficit
  • Tracking arrears of strata fees
  • Reconciling monthly ledgers with the operating fund bank account
  • Recording transfers to and from the contingency reserve fund (CRF)
  • Entering year-end adjustments or accruals
  • The year-end financial statement for the AGM package
  • Tracking CRF projects
  • Recording loans from the CRF
  • Finding information to help complete a Form B Information Certificate
  • Using ©STRATACCOUNT for a special levy

The workshop will be facilitated by Wendy Wall, president of VISOA.

Registration is limited to 35 to allow questions related to using ©STRATACCOUNT. The facilitator will stay on after 11 am for questions, if necessary. See the FAQs for details.
