WorkSpace Safety 101 Workshop

The Ottawa Tool Library is a lending library offering a wide range of household tools: hand tools, power tools, garden tools, and kitchen tools.Our mission is to engage and empower the community to participate in sharing resources by providing access to tools and skills for everybody.Our WorkSpace is set up with essential woodshop tools for you to come and work on your projects. Passes can be bought at the tool library after you've completed our safety training.

Ottawa Tool Library

Want to learn how to handle power tools safely? Come and spend an evening in our WorkSpace to learn new skills.

You will receive training on the safe usage of the following tools: band saw, mitre saw, drill press, drill, and belt and disc sander. You will have ample time to try out each tool and end up making a wooden candle holder.This is also a required course for anyone who wants to use the above tools in our WorkSpace.If you're under 18 years, you must be accompanied by an adult. Contact us beforehand via <a href="https://ottawatoollibrary.com/contact/" title="https://ottawatoollibrary.com/contact/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">email</a> to aquire approval.Every workshop attendee gets one free day access pass to our WorkSpace. Pass needs to be used within one month of this workshop.Please dress appropriately for working in a woodshop: closed-toe shoes, hair tied in the back, and no loose clothing. It's important to be on time for this workshop as this is a safety course and all information is important.
