Her professional career has taken her from the front line to the board room and now into a thrilling rollercoaster ride as a multiple business owner and entrepreneur. Kristen is the Owner of K. Edmiston &amp; Associates Inc. (<a href="https://www.keaconsulting.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KEA Consulting</a>) - a consulting firm in Edmonton that works with clients in both the public and private sectors, specializing in ‘Strategy Partnership’ and small business advising/coaching, workshops and meeting facilitation, and corporate speaking engagements. She also works with larger teams and executives to support their needs with strategic planning, leadership coaching, change management, and workplace culture.As the new Education Director for YBB Connect, Kristen is keenly focused on curating and delivering high quality, timely and relevant and engaging educational opportunities for our YBB Members. She hosts monthly “Sip, Support, and Strategize” Sessions and has recently developed our “Magnetic Mindset” Online Course while working to bring forward other exciting educational content for the YBB Connect Community.Kristen is also the jewelry designer and owner of Kemba Designs Inc. and is the Co-Founder of A Circle of Angels, a-pay-it-forward project that she and her sister launched in 2015. Through the sales of their handmade crystal angel charms, they have donated thousands of dollars to various charities in Canada and also spread love, hope, and kindness in the through random acts of kindness in the community. Throughout all her personal and professional pursuits, Kristen is passionate about helping others follow their joy and recognize the value of the journey, not just the destination.

LATESHA TOWNSEND, Owner, The Basic Bean<a href="https://www.instagram.com/thebasicbean.co" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@thebasicbean.co</a>Latesha is a no BS money manager and Founder of <a href="https://www.thebasicbean.ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Basic Bean</a>, striving to pull back the curtain on all the taboo topic around finance.
She believes that when we strive for excellence together as a community, we can blow past the financial glass ceilings.
As a result, driven individual with hands on practical experience in accounting, project management, and IT she emphasizes the importance of good financial reporting. Latesha has spent nearly a decade operating as a controller on many multi-million-dollar projects teams and has since began sharpening her technical skills by joining the elite team of Certified Project Leaders!
This self-proclaimed “nerd for hire” utilizes innovative technologies, programming, and automation to customize and fast track business development, strategic planning, and financial growth.
Latesha specializes in the reduction of critical path timelines while cultivating creative cost-reductions and targeted revenue growth strategies.
Her analytical thinking enables for efficient production-based decision making while strengthening the accuracy of financial statement production. Latesha is committed to striving for excellence &amp; accountability, working to better herself and guide others to the Money Wins!
But beyond the technical she enjoys spending time on her homestead attempting to garden and relaxing with her Dog(s) and horses. Latesha is the downright human accountant that is actually easy to talk to because she knows its her job to filter the financial jargon, so your money starts to make sense to you!

Helping others find their sense of belonging by leading with compassion and tangible takeaways. With a major focus on progressive language and speech, to ensure inclusive discourse in all areas.“Flipping the script” is a motto Chelsea has embodied for as long as they could remember. Before Bree was a professional speaker and consultant, they were a dreamer. She painted pictures in her mind of the world around them and how they fit. Since then, she has acted as the Director of Communications for #MakeItAwkward, an anti-discriminatory campaign founded in 2016. In April 2021, Chelsea Bree and Jesse Lipscombe founded Not That Funny Gaming Inc., a tabletop game designed to uncover the damaging truths of microaggressions and “jokes” directed at marginalized groups and individuals.Chelsea continues her advocacy work through speaking, consulting and collaborating with organizations and individuals to create a feeling of belonging and empathy.

She opened her first Spa in Edmonton in 2011 when she was 23 years old. Justine then went on to pursue a career in Dermatology working for the President of Dermatology in Canada. Her vast knowledge of the industry has made her a leader and a top advisor in the Medical Aesthetics world. Justine started Lipstick Empire in 2013 as a Cosmetic Consulting Company and then decided to open a brick and mortar store in the heart of downtown Edmonton. In December of 2015, Justine launched a full service medical spa called Lipstick Empire LaserSpa. After nearly 4 years of running her own business, she decided to expand on her interests in marketing and social media to create Virago and Lace Digital Branding Consultancy. She combined her passion of business, marketing and mentorship to help others become successful by teaching them the marketing tools and strategies they need to thrive in their business. Not only are her businesses her life’s work, purpose and passion, they have become her platform to drive change in her community, empower others and give back in countless other ways. Justine has donated her time and monetary resources over the years to organizations such as The United Way, Stollery Women’s Network, WIN House, The Lurana Shelter, SACE and currently sits on the board for the Zebra Child Protection Centre. She has made it her mission to stand up for change, educate and encourage others in her community to join her in doing the same, all while being a strong voice for those who are more socially vulnerable. Justine is living proof that with a lot of hard work and hustle paired with a compassionate kind heart, your wildest dreams can be achieved.Alexa Golden is the Creative Director at Virago and Lace and the one that works behind the scenes to make a client’s vision come to life. She has always had a passion for anything creative, which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Communication Studies Degree at MacEwan University where she could expand upon her writing, design, and multimedia skills. After graduating from the program in 2018, Alexa knew she wanted to start her own business in graphic design and social media and began her career freelancing. She eventually met Justine at a networking event (a YBB event to be exact!) and after working together for 4 months, Virago and Lace was born. Alexa brings her love of social media, design, and videography to the team and over the last several years, has had the pleasure of creating logos and branding for over 20 different businesses in addition to developing social media strategies for countless others. Outside of work, Alexa enjoys creating video content for YouTube and cohosting her own Podcast, Gossip and Gratitude.
