YNTA has Pride!

Young Nurses Take Action Foundation is an Edmonton based non profit organization focused on global citizenship, leadership and mentorship of young Registered Nurses and Registered Pyschiatric Nurses. We engage in both international and local volunteer work, mentorship of new nurses and the creation of leadership opportunities for RNs and RPNs.

<DIV>Pride Parade takes place tomorrow, June 10. All participants must arrive by 10am. We will be meeting at the corner of 79 Avenue and 109 Street (a few blocks south of Whyte Avenue). We expect that the parade will be done by approximately 1:30pm. </DIV>

<DIV>Please wear clothing that a nurse wears! The more colorful, the better. Scrubs, a nursing dress, a scrub romper (<A HREF="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk66T2imxso" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk66T2imxso</A>) and O.R. caps are all acceptable. Be creative! Scrubs in bright colors (think of the rainbow.. ROYGBIV!) would look especially sharp. We would appreciate it if everyone could wear their stethoscope as well. You could also make a nurse's cap to wear! <DIV>The theme for this year's Pride festival is One Pride, Many Voices. We would like to showcase the fact that there are many voices of nurses supporting the LGBTQ+ community. We encourage you to display your nursing specialty in some way (for example, writing "Emergency" or "Psychiatry" or "OR" on your scrub top or your nursing cap). </DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>YNTA will be supplying a banner for us to carry in addition to bubbles and balloons. We will also have band-aids to hand out to parade attendees.<BR></DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>Don't forget to dress appropriately for the weather. This hopefully means sunscreen and a hat. It might also mean a poncho or a raincoat (best to be prepared!). Wear comfortable shoes... besides, comfy shoes are standard nurse apparel. We will have some water available to you but it might be a good idea to bring your own water bottle. If you would like to bring a snack or two, feel free. </DIV>
