How much brilliance can a musician accumulate in just a few years of childhood? You will be astonished! Young Brilliance is a classical music concert featuring the polished professionals of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony with one of the most powerful musical prodigies alive: KW's own nine-year-old piano miracle Murasaki Matsutani. She will perform a piano concerto by W. A. Mozart who was himself an unparalleled genius by age 8. The concert also features music by Camille Saint-Saens who could play all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas from memory by age 12; Lili Boulanger who at age 10 could play piano, organ, harp, violin and cello, and soon became the first female composer to win the Prix de Rome; and Sophie Carmen Edkhardt Grammaté who began her career as a published composer at age 11. The concert is hosted from the stage with stories of towering music from composers whose feet still didn't reach the ground - Young Brilliance!
