This scavenger hunt will bring adventure and fun as you and your team compete on your own timeline, scouring central Calgary for answers!

yyseek has begun, but registrations are open until 10am July 8! Although you may have less time, you and your team still have a great shot at earning one of our awesome local prizes (below)! If you register, we will send you the Hunt List just as soon as we&#x27;re able so you can get started! PRIZESAll prizes have generously been donated by local Calgary businesses:-Trolley 5 Brewpub - Package valued at $200, including a gift certificate, brewery tour, beer(!), and more-Beebop Doughnuts - 1 dozen gourmet doughnuts and 1/2 dozen classic doughnuts-Social Cut and Shave - Styling/haircut service-Kent of Inglewood - Straight razor valued at $50-Caffe Beano - Mug and $25 gift card-Good Trade Coffee Co. - $25 gift cards, drink vouchers, and coffee beans-UNTITLED Champagne Lounge - Gift card-Cannibale Barbershop - Styling/haircut service and package of productsPrizes will be awarded to the top teams based on point earnings. Judges will divide prizes in the unlikely event of a tie for first place.TIMELINETeams receive the Hunt List at 10am July 4 and can complete clues on their own timeline throughout the week. Hunting can be done at your own pace and at any time of the day, as all answers are found outdoors in public spaces. You must submit answers before 10pm July 10. There is no advantage to submitting earlier in the week, so long as you submit before the deadline. TEAMEach team should consist of 2-4 adults (age 15 and above). Please choose teammates in accordance with applicable Covid guidelines, being mindful of close contact rules. One-person teams are allowed, but not recommended. Each team must have means to move around central Calgary. Participants must be respectful of the yyseek Rules (below). Participants can be any age, but be advised that clues were designed with adults in mind. Teams may need internet to solve and locate clues. Please arrange internet access accordingly. Teams will create a team name.COSTEach team will pay $30 to register, $15 of which will be given to Calgary Food Bank. We recognize that Covid19 has presented many financial difficulties; if you are low-income, contact yyseekinfo@gmail.com for an alternate arrangement. SETTINGTeams will move throughout central Calgary to complete clues. TASKSEach team will receive a yyseek Hunt List when their time begins, which will direct participants through central Calgary. Answers will all be found outdoors and will not require you to touch or handle anything. Teams can attempt as many tasks as they choose and can simply ignore any remaining tasks. yyseek is not laid out in a linear treasure hunt fashion, so teams must create their own strategy. The Hunt List must be returned to yyseekinfo@gmail.com with your answers. NOTEThis one-time event is created and run by a local Calgarian with the goal of providing a community-building event that gives voices and support to Calgary local businesses and Calgary Food Bank. RULES(Credit to the University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt Organization Committee, from whom I adapted the following rules.)<ol><li>Free will. Participation in this event is purely voluntary and meant for enjoyment. The Event Host takes no responsibility for your actions throughout the Hunt (or consequences thereof). </li><li>Teams. Teams are asked to work as a unit throughout yyseek and travel together. </li><li>Fair Play. Sabotaging teams can lead to immediate disqualification. Teams are not permitted to copy others or share tips at any point. </li><li>Points. Point totals are final. We know the correct answers and if your submission doesn’t match, we can’t give you the point. </li><li>Time. Teams will be given their Lists at 10am July 4. Any submissions returned after 10pm July 10 will not be awarded points. Please plan accordingly. </li><li>Travel. yyseek will require you to move throughout central Calgary. Please respect all appropriate Calgary Bylaws regarding driving, bicycling, walking, etc. as you move through the city. </li><li>Rules. yyseek can be done without getting busted by the cops or breaking any rules (moral, ethical, or legal). Please get it done that way. </li><li>Covid19. The Event Host expects all participants to abide by municipal, provincial, and national regulations regarding Covid19.</li><li>Prizes. The prize(s) will be awarded to the winning team(s). No returns or refunds. Teams are responsible for dividing the prize among themselves. </li><li>Decisions.
