Eric Nyland is a professional actor, pianist, teacher, and festival adjudicator who runs a private piano teaching studio in Bridgeland, Calgary. Eric holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta, and Associate and Licentiate piano performance diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music. An Advanced Teacher Specialist with the Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher Certification Program, he is also a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers' Association, and serves as the musical director for the long-form theatre improvisation duo (winner, Best Show at Vancouver International Improv Festival). Recently Eric served as composer, music director, and title character in Armin Wiebe’s for the Station Arts Centre. He has held solo concerts in Edmonton and Calgary, performing through the National Music Centre’s series and the Pro Arts Society, as well as appearing as soloist in Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto for the inaugural concert of the Calgary Arts Orchestra.
