Kelowna Grandmothers for Africa and Okanagan Chefs Association

Kelowna Grandmothers for Africa is a chapter of the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign. Kelowna Grandmothers for Africa raises funds and awareness for grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who are raising grandchildren orphaned by the AIDS pandemic. As many as 13 million children have been orphaned by AIDS.  Grandmothers bury their own adult children and step in to care for the orphaned children and other children who have no other resource. The Stephen Lewis Foundation and the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign provide targeted and accountable support for these grandmothers and orphans through healthcare and education initiatives, and self-sufficiency programs such as microcredit grants and human rights support.
