Melita & Area Economic Development Corp.

The mission of the Melita and Area Economic Development Corporation Inc. (EDC) is to promote and enhance economic development and job creation by fostering, promoting, and implementing economic and tourism development, encompassing the concepts of collaboration, engagement, strategic partnerships and stakeholder inclusiveness. Specifically, the corporation will:

• Identify business retention, attraction and expansion opportunities in Melita and Area;

• Provide advice and recommendations to Council respecting economic and tourism development; and

• Cultivate a positive community-wide investment image, promoting Melita and Area as an attractive environment for existing and prospective businesses.

The Community Empowerment Workshops geared towards support one of the strategic priorities of the EDC.
