THE EXISTence |, hailing from Edmonton, Canada, is an indie rock band forged by the vision of Sans Bliss, also known as Ian Robertson, whose dream of forming a band had been brewing for quite some time. After reaching out to his musical connections, the group underwent numerous lineup changes and navigated the trials of songwriting before ultimately coalescing into a cohesive four-member indie quartet in the year 2022. And in 2024 added a second vocalist to become a five member indie band quintet.

At the helm of | THE EXISTence | stands Sans Bliss, taking on the roles of the band's primary songwriter, skilled guitar maestro and band manager. Alongside him are Sarah Woodbridge, lending her captivating vocals to the forefront, Bex Visscher with vocal harmonies, Kegan Proulx providing the pulsating bass rhythms and backing vocals, and Curtis Stang anchoring the ensemble with his rhythmic drumming and percussive prowess. The band draws inspiration to their indie rock / alt folk original music from a diverse array of musical genres such as post-punk, new wave, alternative folk, 60’s surf and indie rock, their sound is an eclectic sonic and lyric fusion.

The core mission of | THE EXISTence | revolves around crafting introspective and intellectually resonant music that strikes a chord with kindred spirits in warming hearts and minds of young and old souls.

The band has charted a clear course for their musical journey, aiming to refine their song catalogue, grace as many live stages as possible, and embark on recording and releasing tracks to complete their eagerly anticipated full-length studio album, titled "behind spines and lifelines," a collection comprising 11 thought-provoking compositions.
