The Laurel Centre

The Laurel Centre is a charitable agency, founded over 30 years ago to provide therapy for women who have been sexually abused as children.  Many of our clients struggle with low self esteem, mental health issues, relational difficulties, and for some compulsive coping behaviors and addictions.  We are one of the only agencies in Canada whose sole focus is on the treatment of Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. 

In 2010, we expanded our services and took on the administration of the Men’s Resource Centre of Manitoba (MRC).  The MRC provides individiual and group therapy, as well as support and referral services to men who have experienced either childhood or adolescent sexual victimization or trauma and stressors in order to address and deal with related issues such as mental health and addictions.  In conjunction, we also have one of the only emergency shelter programs for men and their children fleeing an abusive relationship or exceptional violence in their lives.
