A Health Spending Account or HSA is a tax-effective health expenditure vehicle which provides eligible employees with coverage opportunities for managing health-related expenses. The HSA is funded by the University, using pre-tax dollars in the form of HSA credit allocations; these credits, which are accrued at the rateof 37.50 per eligible month(450.00peryear), enable the employee and his or her eligible dependents to submit claims and be reimbursed for eligible health-related expenses. The Canadian Revenue Agency(CRA) governs the administration of HSAs as well as establishes the list of expenses which are eligible for reimbursement.
